[He's getting BETTER at dealing with the jungle, but it doesn't mean he's nearly as good at it as the person he's trying to find - ]

[Because let's face it, the idea of leaving a distinctly not in his right normal mind Conan alone wandering around in the jungle, with everything that's out to get one or both of them at this point, does not seem like something Saguru just wants to leave go.]

[He's doing the best at tracking that he can - Conan's footprints are, at least, easily identifiable when they can be found - but he hasn't had near enough time to get THAT good at it out here, and frankly, is once again missing Watson and the "follow" trick he'd taught her; being able to just look for where the bird was following/kiting to tell where Conan was would be SO much easier.]

[He's also periodically checking his pocketwatch and trying not to think about how much could happen in the time that's passed since he last saw Conan. :| ]

[And quite possibly is starting to hit areas of the jungle he's actually never seen before!]

[For the same reasons monkeys have it out to get Conan, probably. Oh, sure, sometimes he seems to actually GET ALONG with them, but there were definitely a few that Did Not Like Him. Thus, why he ended up in a spring. And with clothes pretty shredded, he didn't dare go to the Golden Land right away for some hot water because he didn't need Beatrice to see THAT and had gone to get clothes.]

[At least he managed to find the tree without incident. He even managed to get pants on, when the monkeys stuck again, this time throwing a dark red berry in his mouth that he almost choked on.]

[After that though, things got hazy for Shinichi and he didn't bother getting a shirt or even taking off the glasses. Instead, he promptly left, looking for a very specific person.]

[Who he just spotted.]

[And has managed to come up behind him, and wrapped his arms around his waist, pressing against his back, and practically purred in his ear.] Hakuba~!

[He has never met Kudo Shinichi in person before.]

[He is, however, very familiar with Kuroba Kaito, and has never been properly educated on just how far the doppelganger thing goes with them.]

[Hence, this will immediately translate as "OH DEAR GOD HAS EVERYONE GONE INSANE", with a bit of a startled-jump-almost-flail and a falsetto squeak.] K-KUROBA?!

[At this point he's about ready to see Beatrice pop up out of nowhere and attempt to molest him. :| JUST BECAUSE THAT SEEMS TO BE THE THEME TODAY.]

[Nothing says awkward like thinking the boy you stalk is right now doing a good job of feeling up your chest, and sounding like a cat who got the canary in your ear.]

[However, the sad realization that he's probably going to have no problem getting Shinichi to follow him makes it that much easier to go with the fight or flight instinct and dash for the dark space he'd just caught sight of.]

[This may not be his most well-thought out, cunning, and brilliant plan ever.]

You are not in your right mind now, and while I'm sure you won't believe me about that for now, I'm not sure what else to do here; I can't have you wandering around like this and getting spotted by the wrong people, which is the entire reason we're in here, but I am not going to just leave you doing something you're going to regret later.

Maybe I would believe this if something had happened between you and her, and if you weren't more hostile to me than anything, but suddenly latching onto me like this reeks of some kind of outside meddling, and I don't know if it's another of this place's games, or the actions of someone else here, but we know there's forces at work that can meddle in people's heads and change their behavior, which is a far more likely explanation for this than you suddenly waking up one morning, forgetting Ran, and deciding to throw yourself at me.
